Civics

The images in these works emerged from universal time line and light cone diagrams found in many cosmology books. These diagrams are used to chart possibilities, past and present, of a given particle or object in space-time.

The direction of these works went through an organic evolution that was not originally intended but welcomed. Through the actualization of the paintings, the solidified forms became more of an animated community of individuals based on the cones and other “characters.” In a playful way, they became an inquiry into human communication and processing, exploring how we receive, interpret, and relay messages.

The images are still examinations of perspective and communication, but through their evolution have come to also reveal certain aspects of a more civic nature.
