	Mark Allen Soderstrom was born and raised in California’s Central Valley where he experimented with music, writing, and visual arts. While earning his BA from Humboldt State University he focused on photography, printmaking, and exhibition management. Soderstrom’s work turned to more sculptural and experience-oriented projects while living in Oakland and pursuing his MFA from Mills College. Today Soderstrom lives in Humboldt County where he teaches at College of the Redwoods and Humboldt State University in the areas of sculpture, drawing, and design. His studio work continues to revolve around a playful but earnest exploration of various individual, historical, and societal perspectives, employing a variety of mediums and methods.
